In Guwahati, Indian bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule expressed admiration for Virat Kohli's relentless pursuit of excellence, emphasizing his dedication to fitness and the game. He noted that both Kohli and Rohit Sharma serve as vital sources of inspiration for younger players in the team.

Kohli, who has stepped back from Test and T20I formats, remains India's leading ODI batter, having participated in 315 ODIs and amassed 15,080 runs, which includes 55 centuries and 79 half-centuries, boasting an impressive average of 59.13 and a strike rate of 94.30.

Bahutule shared these insights with reporters on the eve of India's second ODI against the West Indies, scheduled for Tuesday in Guwahati.

"Virat Kohli continues to elevate his game with each series and match. Despite his numerous achievements, his desire to improve is remarkable. Alongside Rohit, they contribute invaluable experience to the team, greatly benefiting the younger players through their interactions. Their presence fosters growth among the youth. The coach also commended spinner Kuldeep Yadav for his consistent match-winning abilities, praising his dedication, preparation, and distinctive wrist-spin techniques that significantly enhance India's bowling lineup.

Yadav was recognized as the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the first ODI against the West Indies, where he took four wickets.
