Virat Kohli's Availability in Question for RCB vs DC Clash
Kohli's Status Uncertain Ahead of Key Match
Virat Kohli's participation in the upcoming match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday (April 18) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is still unclear. This uncertainty follows his recent role as an 'impact player' during the match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Wednesday (April 15). In a pre-match press conference, Australian cricketer Josh Hazlewood expressed doubts about Kohli's ability to play a full match. Hazlewood confirmed that Kohli would be available as a specialist batter, but it remains uncertain if he can take the field. He emphasized the importance of Kohli's presence, stating, "I would love to have him in the field; he brings great energy and is one of our top fielders. However, we need to be cautious regarding his fitness. Knowing him, he prefers being actively involved rather than watching from the sidelines."

Virat Kohli's Unprecedented Impact Player Role
The recent match against LSG marked the first instance in Kohli's career where he was utilized as an impact player by RCB. He also did not take the field during the game against Mumbai Indians (MI). Following RCB's five-wicket victory over LSG, Kohli disclosed that he had been dealing with a knee issue and an illness. "I feel much better than in the last game, but I'm still not at my best. My knee was sore, and I've been unwell for several days. I started strong today, which I was pleased about, but I would have preferred to finish the game. The pitch conditions changed significantly, and I aimed to maintain my performance. In hindsight, I should have completed the innings," Kohli shared in a post-match interview. He played a crucial role in the win against LSG, scoring 49 runs off 34 balls as RCB successfully chased a target of 147. Currently, Kohli holds the Orange Cap with 224 runs in five innings, averaging 57 with a strike rate of 158.33, including two half-centuries.
