Venkatesh Prasad Takes Charge as President of Karnataka State Cricket Association
New Leadership at KSCA
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], December 16: The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has appointed former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad as its new president. This decision comes alongside the formation of a Cricket Advisory Committee that includes notable ex-Indian bowlers such as Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, and Sunil Joshi.
Prasad was elected to the presidency on Sunday, triumphing over K N Shanta Kumar by a margin of 191 votes, securing a total of 749 votes compared to Shanta Kumar's 558. Additionally, Sujith Somasunder has been appointed as Vice-President, while Santosh Menon returns as Secretary after previously holding the position from 2019 to 2022. Former umpire BK Ravi has been elected as Joint Secretary with 669 votes, and BN Madhukar has won the Treasurer position against MS Vinay with 736 votes.
Previously, Prasad served as the KSCA vice president from 2010 to 2013 and has represented India in 33 Tests and 161 ODIs.
In a statement, the KSCA announced the establishment of the Cricket Advisory Committee, which comprises distinguished members including Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Sunil Joshi, Vijay Bharadwaj, and Jayshree Doraiswamy.
During its inaugural meeting, the Cricket Advisory Committee proposed recommendations for the Selection Panels for the current season, which have been approved by the Managing Committee. The approved panels are as follows:

In the under-23 men's cricket coaching staff, Ganesh Satish has taken over from Somashekar Siruguppi, while Deepak Chougule has replaced SR Deepu.
The Women's Selection Committee is currently under evaluation, with decisions expected to be made soon.
Additionally, during the Managing Committee meeting, Vinay Mruthyunjaya, the former Treasurer of KSCA, was nominated as the Official Spokesperson and Chairman of Public & Member Relations.
