Vansh Bedi Responds to Match-Fixing Claims
In New Delhi, Central Delhi Kings' wicketkeeper-batter Vansh Bedi has spoken out regarding recent allegations of corruption linked to the Delhi Premier League (DPL). He firmly denied any involvement in match-fixing, particularly in connection with a player from Chennai Super Kings (CSK), labeling the circulating rumors on social media as false and damaging.
Bedi emphasized that he is not the person implicated in the reports and has no ties to any match-fixing activities. He has taken legal steps against those spreading defamatory information, urging the public to avoid sharing such misleading content.
In an Instagram post, he stated, "I want to clarify the false and defamatory information circulating about me. I am not the individual mentioned by former Ranji Trophy player Rachit Bhatia in the Tehelka sting operation regarding alleged match-fixing with a CSK player, nor am I involved in any such activities."

He further stated, "Any attempt to falsely associate me with these claims is extremely defamatory. My legal team is pursuing civil and criminal actions against those responsible. I urge everyone to stop spreading such misleading and defamatory information."
Bedi, who has a history with Delhi cricket, previously played for Purani Dilli 6 in the DPL and was selected by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL auction for the upcoming 2025 season.
The situation has drawn attention, prompting the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) to relay the information it has to the appropriate authorities.
The DDCA has clarified that the allegations currently being discussed are unverified and have not been substantiated by any official body. They stressed that it would be inappropriate to make judgments about any player, individual, or franchise based solely on these unverified claims.
According to a statement from the DDCA, "The Delhi & District Cricket Association has acknowledged recent reports regarding alleged irregularities involving certain players and a franchise in the Delhi Premier League. We want to clarify that these allegations are unverified and have not been confirmed by any competent authority. It is inappropriate to draw conclusions about any individual, player, or franchise based solely on such allegations."
The 2026 season of the Delhi Premier League featured eight teams and took place from July 31 to August 30, culminating in a final where South Delhi Super Starz triumphed over Central Delhi Kings.
