Vaidehee Chaudhari Returns to Compete

New Delhi, October 4: After being sidelined last year due to an injury, two-time champion Vaidehee Chaudhari is set to make her comeback at the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, determined to reclaim her title.


The main draw of the 31st Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship is set to kick off at DLTA on Monday, with Chaudhari leading a competitive women's lineup that includes Shruthi Ahlawat, Sonal Patil, and Akanksha Nitture.


Chaudhari expressed her focus on taking it one match at a time, stating, "I won in 2022 and 2024, but I missed last year due to injury. I’m thrilled to be back and will give my all. My goal is to win the trophy, and I’m committed to doing my best."


While the main draw has yet to be announced, Chaudhari is concentrating on her performance. She mentioned, "I’m working on all aspects of my game. Right now, I’m focused on my own play since I don’t know my opponent yet. Once the draw is out, I’ll see who I’m up against."


Defending champion Manish Sureshkumar will headline the men's draw, which features competitors like Nitin Kumar Sinha, Aditya Balsekar, and Udit Kamboj.


This week will also see the Boys and Girls under-18 competitions running alongside the men's and women's events. The boys' category includes Delhi's Praneel Sharma, Karnataka's Prakaash Sarran, Gujarat's Om Patel, and Haryana's Harsh Malik. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's Savitha Bhubaneshwaran, Maharashtra's Parthsarthi Mundhe and Swanika Roy, along with Karnataka's Shreeniti Chowdhury, will lead the girls' competition.


Following this, the Under-16 and Under-14 events will take place, with qualifying rounds scheduled for October 10-11 and the main rounds commencing the following week.
