Even after sustaining an injury while attempting a catch, he was determined to remain on the field until our physio advised him to leave.” Laxman will continue to mentor Sooryavanshi as he prepares to coach the Indian team for the 2026 Asian Games, while also serving as the head of the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Gautam Gambhir, who was rested during the Zimbabwe series, is set to return for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting August 15.
