RCB Triumphs in IPL 2026
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) celebrated their victory in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), but it was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who truly stole the spotlight by sweeping the awards. The 15-year-old prodigy showcased his batting prowess, amassing a remarkable 776 runs across 16 matches with an impressive strike rate of 237.31. Although he did not participate in the final match due to Rajasthan Royals (RR) being eliminated by Gujarat Titans (GT) in the second qualifier, Sooryavanshi's outstanding performance included a stunning 96 runs off 49 balls.
Throughout the season, he achieved one century and five half-centuries, narrowly missing out on three scores in the 90s. His exceptional contributions earned him the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award along with the orange cap, totaling five awards in all. The crowd in Ahmedabad celebrated his achievements with enthusiastic cheers. Other notable awardees included Kagiso Rabada, who received the purple cap, while Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured the fair play award. Additionally, Sai Sudharsan, Mohammed Siraj, and Manish Pandey also received accolades.
In the final match, Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match (POTM) for his stellar 75 runs off 42 balls, leading RCB to a five-wicket victory over the Titans.
