Sanju Samson's Exit from the T20I Squad


In the second T20I match against England held in Manchester, Sanju Samson was replaced by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Despite expectations for Samson to have a longer run following his performance in the 2026 T20 World Cup, the team management decided to drop him. It appeared that Samson was informed about this decision beforehand, as Gautam Gambhir was spotted discussing with him after the toss. The head coach of India has consistently supported Samson, ensuring to communicate with him post-toss.


Since arriving in the UK, Samson has faced difficulties in scoring runs. He managed only five runs in the series opener against Ireland and did not score in the subsequent match. His disappointing performance led the management to make this difficult decision.
