Umesh Yadav Analyzes Bumrah's Struggles and Bhuvneshwar's Success in IPL
Umesh Yadav Discusses IPL Performance of Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar
Senior Indian pacer Umesh Yadav has commented on Jasprit Bumrah's inconsistent performance in the current IPL season, attributing it to his experimentation on the field. In contrast, he praised Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his strategic approach, which has led to his success in both Powerplay and death overs.
Bhuvneshwar currently leads the IPL wicket-takers chart with 17 wickets from nine matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Meanwhile, Bumrah, representing the Mumbai Indians, has faced challenges, managing only three wickets in ten games.
Umesh noted, "Bhuvi's strategy is well-defined. He effectively bowls during Powerplay and death overs, and his game plan is solid. He can swing the ball both ways."
He further explained, "Bhuvi maintains consistency in his line and length, while Bumrah's attempts to vary his approach are causing him difficulties."
Umesh pointed out that Bumrah's inconsistency stems from being deployed in varying situations, which affects his performance. He suggested that the Mumbai Indians should create more opportunities for Bumrah to attack and take wickets.
Additionally, Umesh criticized Rishabh Pant's form, stating it has negatively impacted the Lucknow Super Giants. He emphasized the need for the team to find the right combination.
"It's up to Pant to make decisions, as he carries the responsibility. His performance, along with the team's, has declined over the past two years. This season, their batting has been erratic compared to last year," he remarked.
Umesh also highlighted the inconsistency in the batting order, urging the team to establish a stable lineup and communicate effectively with the players.
When asked about potential playoff contenders, Umesh predicted that Punjab, RCB, Rajasthan, and SRH are likely to secure spots in the top four.
