Amanpreet Singh Gill Passes Away at 36
Amanpreet Singh Gill, who once played alongside renowned cricketers Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in the India U19 team, has sadly passed away at the age of 36. The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) announced his death on social media, revealing that he died on Wednesday morning.
Born on September 16, 1989, in Chandigarh, Amanpreet was a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He represented India’s Under-19 squad in 2007, sharing the field with notable players like Kohli, Jadeja, and Manish Pandey.

Amanpreet participated in the 2007 tri-nation U19 tournament held in Sri Lanka, where he impressively took nine wickets across five matches.
Throughout his career, he played six first-class matches, achieving 11 wickets with an average of 54.72.
The PCA expressed profound sorrow over his passing, honoring him as a committed contributor to the sport. They conveyed their condolences to his family during this challenging time.
In their message on social media, the PCA stated, "Punjab Cricket Association deeply mourns the sad demise of Amanpreet Singh Gill, former Punjab cricketer and Member, Senior Selection Committee, Punjab. He served Punjab cricket with dedication and passion, representing teams including India Under-19s, Kings XI Punjab and Punjab. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones. May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family in this difficult time."
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh also expressed his grief over Amanpreet's passing. He remembered Amanpreet as a humble and diligent player from their early cricketing days and offered his sympathies to the grieving family.
Yuvraj shared, "Deeply saddened to hear about Amanpreet Singh Gill’s passing. Shared the dressing room in our early days, he was a quiet, hardworking cricketer who loved the game. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace. Om Shanti," in his social media post.
