Travis Head and Wife Face Online Abuse Following Kohli Incident
Online Harassment After On-Field Tension
Travis Head, a batter for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and his spouse Jessica have encountered severe online harassment following a confrontation with Virat Kohli during a match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The incident escalated when Kohli, while batting, playfully taunted Head to bowl, and after Kohli was dismissed for just 15 runs, Head humorously remarked, “Mate, you got out before I even came on to bowl.” After the game, Kohli notably declined to shake hands with Head, walking past him without acknowledging him, as seen in a widely circulated video.

Jessica revealed that the couple received abusive messages, which also targeted their friends and family. She expressed that this situation mirrored the harassment they faced after the World Cup, where Head's century led Australia to victory over India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final. "It feels like a repeat of the abuse that happened after the World Cup," she stated to an Australian media outlet. "I woke up to my socials blasting... we are fine but they are attacking my friends and family." Jessica condemned the trolls, urging for more respect towards players and their families. She emphasized the ongoing discussion about mental health in sports, stating, "Passion will always be part of sport, but so is remembering there are real people and families behind the game. Hopefully, this encourages more kindness and support for one another."
