Tilak Varma Climbs to Third in T20I Batting Rankings

In the latest ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, Tilak Varma from India has ascended to the third position, gaining one spot. He now boasts 804 rating points, trailing behind his fellow countryman Abhishek Sharma, who is in second place. Leading the batting rankings is Australia’s Travis Head, while Suryakumar Yadav, who has dropped to sixth, remains the only other Indian player in the top ten.


On the bowling front, Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi have maintained their positions at third and seventh, respectively. Chakaravarthy holds 706 points, while Bishnoi has 674. Additionally, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is also featured in the top ten with 653 points.


Hardik Pandya continues to dominate the all-rounders’ rankings with 252 rating points.


In other notable movements, England’s Adil Rashid has climbed to second in the bowling rankings after a stellar performance in the recent T20I series against West Indies, where he helped secure a 3-0 series victory. Rashid’s impressive figures included 1/22 in Chester-le-Street, 1/59 in Bristol, and 2/30 in Southampton, allowing him to surpass Wanindu Hasaranga and Chakaravarthy. He now has 710 points, just 13 points behind New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy, who leads with 723.


Brydon Carse, Rashid’s teammate, also made strides, moving up 16 spots to 52nd with 493 points after taking two wickets in the last two matches.


Ben Duckett from England surged 48 places to 16th after scoring a rapid 84 off 46 balls in the final T20I, while Harry Brook advanced six spots to joint-38th with scores of 35 not out and 34 in the series.


For the West Indies, captain Shai Hope improved his ranking by 14 places to 15th, thanks to two innings in the 40s, while Rovman Powell entered the top 20 following an unbeaten 79 off 45 balls in the last match.


All-rounder Jason Holder also saw progress, moving up 16 places to 26th in the all-rounder rankings after contributing 70 runs and taking a wicket during the series.
