Tiger Shroff's Inclusion in Mumbay FC

Bollywood star Tiger Shroff has been added to the roster of Mumbay FC for the upcoming Durand Cup 2026. The club intends to have him participate in at least one match during the tournament, although details regarding his actual playing time are still being finalized. Mumbay FC's technical director, Zoheb Khan, mentioned that while they hope to have Shroff travel for one of their games, security concerns are a significant consideration. Currently, Shroff is undergoing training with the team.

In an interview with Sportstar, Zoheb expressed, "Crowds can gather, and it might become chaotic."

Discovery of Shroff's Football Talent

Zoheb revealed that he first recognized Shroff's football abilities during an influencers' league held in 2023. Impressed by Shroff's technical skills, he extended an invitation for him to train with the club after its establishment in 2024. "During the influencers league with various personalities and former athletes in 2023, I realized Tiger had the potential; he understands the game well. After we formed the club, I invited him to join our practice sessions. He enjoys slide tackles and those one-on-one dribbling moments. Soon, he expressed interest in playing a professional match," he shared with Sportstar.

"I ensured his registration with the Centralised Registration System (CRS) was completed. I explained to him that this isn't just any tournament; it requires formal registration, an ID card, and a referee to oversee everything. I must say he approached it very professionally," he added. Mumbay FC is set to compete in Group E of the 2026 Durand Cup, alongside Shillong Lajong, Langsning FC, and Nongkseh SS and CC. Their first match will be against Langsning FC on August 3 in Shillong, followed by games against Shillong Lajong and Nongkseh on August 8 and 11, respectively, at the same location.
