Tejas Manoj Patil, an Indian fencer, is gearing up for the World Championship and Commonwealth Games after the Indian men's foil fencing team successfully qualified for the 2026 Asian Games. Following this achievement, Patil expressed his commitment to preparing for these significant international competitions in the near future.

In a statement, Patil emphasized, "My primary goal is to excel at the World Championship next month, followed by the Commonwealth Games. I will begin my preparations immediately after this competition concludes."

The excitement at the 26th Asian Senior Fencing Championship reached its zenith on the final day at Bharat Mandapam, where the last two team titles were fiercely contested. According to reports, the host nation, India, demonstrated notable technical advancements, marking a significant developmental milestone as they faced off against Asia's top-tier fencing teams.

In the Men's Foil Team event, the Indian squad, featuring Sachin, Sanasam Hemash Singh, Tejas Manoj Patil, and Aditya, showcased impressive blade work and tactical prowess. Supported by an enthusiastic home crowd, they minimized errors and remained competitive against elite opponents, ultimately securing an impressive 8th place, which guarantees their spot in the upcoming Asian Games.

On the women's side, the Épée Team, consisting of Prachi Lohan, Taniksha Khatri, Mitva Jesangbhai Chaudhari, and Yashkeerat Kaur Hayer, displayed remarkable tactical skill. They effectively managed time and distance against formidable continental teams, achieving a commendable 9th place finish.
