This is the mindset needed in knockout cricket. It was fantastic to see Sanju Samson maintain his form and set the pace early! Now, eyes are on the final,” Tendulkar shared on X.

Former spinner Harbhajan Singh emphasized the significance of India's bowling in the death overs for clinching the victory. He remarked, “The death-over bowling from #TeamIndia was pivotal. Congratulations on this significant win. Once again, @IamSanjuSamson proved he is serious about cricket. @IamShivamDube and @TilakV9 also made important contributions. @Jaspritbumrah93 and the other bowlers dismantled the opposition at the end. Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder, specifically praised Bumrah, calling him the true game-changer in this high-scoring match. He stated, “In a game with 500 runs, my Man of the Match is Jasprit Bumrah. His economy rate of 8.25 made all the difference,” Pathan tweeted.
Batting first, India posted an impressive total of 253/7 in 20 overs, thanks to a blistering innings from Sanju Samson (89* off 42 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes) and significant contributions from Shivam Dube (43 off 25 balls, with one four and four sixes), Ishan Kishan (39 off 18 balls, with four boundaries), Hardik Pandya (27 off 12 balls, with three fours and two sixes), and Tilak Varma (21 off seven balls, with three sixes).
Despite having England in a tough spot at 95/4, India couldn't maintain dominance as Jacob Bethell (105 off 48 balls, with eight fours and seven sixes) and Will Jacks (35 off 20 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes) formed a counter-attacking partnership of 77 runs for the fifth wicket. Bethell continued to push forward even after Jacks' dismissal, and a quick-fire cameo of 19 from Jofra Archer brought England close, but they ultimately fell short, finishing at 246/7.
