Syndrela Das Shines at WTT Youth Contender, Secures Mixed Doubles Title

Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], January 4: In an impressive display of skill, Syndrela Das claimed her second title in just two days by partnering with Sarthak Arya to win the U-19 mixed doubles championship at the WTT Youth Contender 2026, hosted at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex on Sunday, as reported by a local source.
This year's WTT Youth Contender, organized by the Table Tennis Association of Baroda and supported by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, features 226 competitors across various age groups from U-11 to U-19.
In the final match for the U-19 mixed doubles, Syndrela and Sarthak showcased their prowess by defeating the top-seeded duo of Abhinandh Pradhivadhi and Ananya Muralidharan with scores of 11-3, 11-9, and 11-3.
Earlier on the same day, Syndrela also secured the girls' U-17 singles title and is poised to defend her U-19 singles championship.
In other results, Vivaan Dave and Naisha Rewaskar clinched the U-15 mixed doubles title, overcoming Reyansh Jalan and Tanishka Kalbhairav with scores of 11-8, 11-8, and 11-3.
Previously, players in the U-11, U-15, and U-19 categories participated in the group stages, with the top two from each group advancing to the knockout rounds.
In the boys' U-11 category, Rehansh Singhvi from Group 1 and Rajdeep Biswas from Group 2 emerged victorious in all their matches, securing spots in the semifinals.
Aadya Baheti and Anshika Gupta also excelled in the girls' U-11 category, topping their groups to advance to the semifinals.
