Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India's T20 cricket team, has traveled to England to seek expert advice regarding a sports hernia affecting his lower abdomen. Depending on the assessment, he may require surgical intervention.

The 33-year-old cricketer had an impressive season with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, amassing over 700 runs, and subsequently participated in the Mumbai Premier League T20.

It remains unclear whether the discomfort intensified during the Mumbai T20 league, as Surya has endured a demanding three-month schedule filled with travel and matches.

A source familiar with the situation revealed, "Surya is experiencing a sports hernia on the right side of his lower abdomen. He has gone to the UK for consultation, and surgery may be necessary."

Despite playing through pain throughout his career, Surya was determined to honor his commitments in the IPL and Mumbai T20.

With no T20 matches scheduled until August or September, Surya believed this was the optimal time to address his injury and ensure adequate recovery at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, according to a BCCI source.
