On Monday, Suchika achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first Indian to win an MMA medal at the Asian Games, finishing third in the women's traditional 60 kg category after a semifinal loss to Singapore's Teo Hui Hoon.

In an interview, Suchika expressed her gratitude towards her parents, family, and husband Kapil Hooda for their relentless encouragement throughout her career. She highlighted that their belief in her abilities has been a source of strength, motivating her to pursue her dreams even at the age of 36. "If you have a passion for any sport, never give up. I still feel capable of achieving more," she stated.

Her mother, Lajwanti Tariyal, shared the family's joy, noting that Suchika's achievement in her first Asian Games appearance is a dream realized for both her and the family. "We are overjoyed that she has become the first Indian woman to win a medal in MMA. This has been a long-held dream for us all," she said.
Kapil Hooda, Suchika's husband, also celebrated her achievement, recognizing the significance of winning a medal in the sport's debut at the Asian Games. He expressed pride in her hard work, even as the family had hoped for a gold medal.
