Vishen Halambage and senior wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella, both representing Sri Lanka, have received penalties from the match referee Pradeep Jeyapragash following their behavior during a recent tri-nation A series match against India.

Reports indicate that Dickwella was penalized for his excessive appeals, despite his role in diffusing a potential escalation between Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Halambage.

Halambage, on the other hand, faced sanctions for making inflammatory remarks directed at Indian batsmen after a tense Super Over victory, which nearly escalated into a physical altercation with the young Indian talent.

During this heated exchange, Sooryavanshi had to intervene as Halambage approached him aggressively.

It remains unclear whether Indian players, including Sooryavanshi and captain Tilak Varma, who engaged in a lengthy discussion with the umpires about conducting a Super Over in diminishing light, received any formal reprimands or merely warnings.
