Windhoek [Namibia], September 1: In a commanding display, South Africa clinched a 43-run victory against Zimbabwe during the fourth match of the Namibia T20I Tri-Series at the Namibia Cricket Ground on Tuesday. Lhuan-dre Pretorius played a pivotal role, scoring a career-high 94 runs, which significantly contributed to the team's success.
After being asked to bat first, South Africa set a challenging target of 185 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Pretorius showcased his batting prowess with a remarkable innings off just 51 balls, hitting 12 boundaries and 3 sixes, narrowly missing out on his first T20I century.
Dewald Brevis also made a notable contribution, scoring 41 runs from 27 balls, as the duo established a solid foundation for the innings. However, Zimbabwe managed to claw back towards the end, taking regular wickets.
In their chase, Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum and were ultimately bowled out for 142 runs in 17.4 overs. Captain Sikandar Raza was the standout performer for Zimbabwe, scoring 45 runs off 33 balls, while Newman Nyamhuri added 27 runs.
Bjorn Fortuin emerged as the standout bowler for South Africa, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs in 3.4 overs. Duan Jansen also made a significant impact with figures of 3 for 21, as the South African bowlers consistently applied pressure on the Zimbabwean batsmen.
