Dubai [UAE], September 3: The Dubai International Cricket Stadium witnessed a remarkable display of talent as Indian opener Smriti Mandhana made history by becoming the leading century-maker in women's international cricket.

With her latest performance, Mandhana has now scored 18 centuries, surpassing the previous record held by former Australia captain Meg Lanning, who had 17 centuries.

South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt also shares the previous record with Lanning, while West Indies' Hayley Matthews follows with 15 centuries.

This milestone was achieved during the Women's Asia Cup match against Hong Kong in Dubai on Thursday. Additionally, Mandhana became the first Indian woman to hit two T20I centuries, overtaking her captain, Harmanpreet Kaur.

In another impressive feat, Mandhana has now become the highest run-scorer in women's international cricket, amassing 10,880 runs, which puts her ahead of former Indian captain Mithali Raj, who scored 10,868 runs.

Completing the top five run-scorers are New Zealand's Suzie Bates (10,740 runs), England's Charlotte Edwards (10,273 runs), and West Indies' Stafanie Taylor (10,007 runs).

In the match itself, Mandhana showcased her batting prowess, scoring an impressive 124 runs off just 64 balls, leading India Women to a total of 193/5 against Hong Kong Women in their Women's Asia Cup 2026 Group A match.

Mandhana's innings included 14 fours and seven sixes, achieving a remarkable strike rate of 193.55.

For Hong Kong, Marina Lamplough took two wickets, while Ruchitha Venkatesh and Joyleen Kaur each claimed one wicket.
