With his century, Shubman Gill has surpassed 3000 runs in ODIs, achieving this milestone in just 62 innings. This makes him the fastest Indian to reach 3000 ODI runs, breaking the previous record held by Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan, who accomplished the feat in 72 innings.

Gill's Record-Breaking Performance

Despite his stellar performance in the second ODI against Afghanistan, Shubman Gill narrowly missed out on becoming the Indian player to reach 3000 ODI runs in the fewest balls faced. He achieved this milestone in 3016 balls, making him the second-fastest Indian to do so, surpassing Shreyas Iyer, who took 3049 balls.

Shubman Gill reached his 150 runs in just 108 balls, marking the third-fastest 150 by an Indian in ODIs. He surpassed Virender Sehwag, who scored his 150 in 112 balls against the West Indies in 2011.
