Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah Slip in ICC Test Rankings; Devdutt Padikkal Climbs

Latest ICC Test Rankings Update

In the most recent ICC Test rankings unveiled on Wednesday, Captain Shubman Gill has fallen two spots among batters, while Jasprit Bumrah has dropped one position among bowlers. Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal has made a notable ascent to the 54th position among Indian players.

Gill, who managed just one half-century during the Sri Lanka tour, now sits at ninth place. Rishabh Pant continues to lead as the highest-ranked Indian batter in Test cricket, holding the seventh position.

Yashasvi Jaiswal remains unchanged at 11th, still outside the top 10 as the Indian opener.

Padikkal, who excelled on the Sri Lanka tour with 328 runs in two Tests, including two centuries, has climbed five spots to reach 54th.

On the other hand, Bumrah has lost his second-place ranking among Test bowlers and is now third, following Australia’s Mitchell Starc and New Zealand’s Matt Henry.

Bumrah missed the Sri Lanka tour due to a knee injury that has kept him out of action since mid-July. He has been included in India’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in mid-September, pending fitness clearance.

Sonal Dinusha from Sri Lanka, who delivered impressive centuries in the second Test against India in Colombo, has surged 29 positions to 25th in the batter rankings due to his outstanding performances.
