Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited Welcomes Shreyas Iyer

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], April 30: Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited (MFRL) has officially named renowned cricketer Shreyas Iyer as the brand ambassador for its Formula 1 Programme in India.

Under a new agreement, Mumbai Falcons will host the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026, a competition sanctioned by Formula 1, aimed at creating a national platform for budding talent across the nation.

This initiative is part of Mumbai Falcons' broader vision to foster a robust sporting culture and infrastructure that encompasses various sports.

Shreyas Iyer has made a name for himself as a reliable match-winner and a leader in Indian cricket, as noted in the announcement.

“He resonates with a youthful audience that goes beyond traditional cricket fans, embodying high performance and adaptability, making him an ideal representative for this Championship,” the statement highlighted.

Iyer expressed his belief that sports are about discovering one’s edge and maintaining the discipline to pursue it. He stated, “When I learned about Mumbai Falcons' initiative to create a pathway for young Indians, I was immediately on board. This is the kind of opportunity I would have valued during my youth, and I am excited to be part of this venture.”

Ameet Gadhoke, Managing Director of MFRL, emphasized India's wealth of sporting talent, stating, “We founded Mumbai Falcons on the premise that India possesses world-class athletes, though their potential has often been limited by structural challenges. Collaborating with Formula 1 to launch the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 is a significant step forward.”

“Shreyas exemplifies the type of athlete we envisioned for this initiative, showcasing excellence and discipline while connecting authentically with the younger generation. The platform we are about to unveil is unprecedented in India,” he added.

The Championship will utilize F1 25, the official game of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, featuring authentic circuits, competitive formats, and team liveries akin to the global series. Registrations opened on April 30 via the MFRL App, accessible on both the Play Store and Apple App Store. Participants can compete on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. The online qualifiers will lead to city-based simulator rounds, culminating in a national final in Mumbai in November.

This initiative marks MFRL's most ambitious project to date, aimed at linking Indian youth to a global competition format through a well-defined pathway.
