Shikhar Dhawan Remembers Nana Patekar

On October 8, former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan expressed his condolences following the passing of renowned actor Nana Patekar, whom he referred to as a "truly special talent" whose legacy will inspire future generations.


Nana Patekar passed away at 5:20 AM on Thursday due to a cardiac arrest at his home, as confirmed by Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital. Dr. Salkar noted that CPR was performed for 45 minutes, but Patekar remained in asystole throughout the procedure.


In a heartfelt post on X, Dhawan honored Patekar, stating, "Indian cinema has lost a truly special talent today. Nana Patekar saab, your work will continue to inspire generations. Om Shanti."



Nana Patekar was a celebrated figure in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, making his debut in the 1978 film 'Gaman'. He gained acclaim for his roles in notable films such as 'Parinda', 'Prahar', 'Angaar', 'Krantiveer', 'Tiranga', 'Khamoshi', and 'Ab Tak Chhappan'.


In recent years, Patekar remained active in the film industry, appearing in 'Housefull 5' alongside stars like Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan. He also portrayed a police officer in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'O'Romeo', featuring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, and made a cameo in 'Subedar', which stars Anil Kapoor and Radhika Madan.
