Champions Emerge at the Shooting Championship

In New Delhi, during the 24th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship, Saurabh Chaudhary from Railways and Sakshi Sunil Padekar from Maharashtra claimed top honors in the 10m Air Pistol Men and 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women events, respectively. The championship took place at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range and the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy in Bhopal.


Saurabh Chaudhary secured the gold medal in the men's 10m Air Pistol event with a final score of 242.8. Gaurav from Uttar Pradesh followed closely, earning silver with 240.7, while Hardik Bansal from Delhi took home the bronze with a score of 219.3.


In the qualification round, Kamaljeet Choudhary from Haryana led with a score of 585-24x, with Saurabh Chaudhary qualifying second at 584-25x, and Gaurav in third with 582-20x. Hardik Bansal entered the finals in fourth place with a score of 581-18x.


Sakshi Padekar triumphed in the women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event, finishing with a score of 357.7. Anjum Moudgil from Punjab earned silver with 357.2, while Aakriti Dahiya from Maharashtra secured bronze with 346.3.


During qualification, Sakshi Padekar topped the leaderboard with a score of 590-34x, matching the KSS record. Manini Kaushik from Rajasthan qualified second with 587-37x, and Shriyanka Sadangi from Odisha took third with 585-22x. Aakriti Dahiya finished fourth with a score of 584-30x.


In the junior women's category, Manya Mittal from Uttar Pradesh clinched the title with a score of 354.8, followed by Pratha Rathod from Madhya Pradesh with 351.9 for silver, and Haryana's Hazel with 338.6 for bronze. Tamil Nadu's Melvina Angeline J finished fourth with 327.4.


Manya Mittal also led in the qualification round with a score of 582-29x, while Pratha Rathod qualified second with 581-23x. Hazel shot 580-22x to finish third, and Prarthana Sen from Madhya Pradesh secured fourth place with the same score.


In the junior men's event, Rajasthan's Abhishek Saini won with a score of 241.1, with fellow state shooter Yogesh Kumar also scoring 241.1 for silver. Jonathan Gavin Antony from Karnataka took bronze with 219.3, while Uttar Pradesh's Sahil finished fourth with 198.1.


In the youth men's category, Rajasthan's Devendra Farswal emerged victorious, with Haryana's Priyanshu Yadav taking silver. Hardik Bansal from Delhi claimed bronze, and Uttarakhand's Shubh finished fourth.


Other notable results include the 10m Pistol Men Team event, where the Army Marksmanship Unit took first place with a score of 1744.0-59x, followed by Rajasthan and Haryana. In the 10m Pistol Sub Youth Men category, Tanish Kumar from Delhi won with 579-20x, while Devendra Farswal and Divyaraj Gohil secured second and third, respectively.


In the 10m Pistol Master Men event, Babu Ram from Chandigarh won with 580-18x, while Vinod Abaji Khutade from Maharashtra and Rajesh Kumar Pandit from Uttar Pradesh followed. The 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women Team event saw Maharashtra take gold, with Punjab and Rajasthan following.
