Sanju Samson Eager to Join CSK Under MS Dhoni's Leadership in IPL 2026
Samson's Excitement for CSK and Dhoni
New Delhi, November 21: Sanju Samson, the wicketkeeper-batter from India, has shared his enthusiasm about playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) under the captaincy of MS Dhoni in the upcoming 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Having been traded from Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a substantial sum of Rs 18 Crore, Samson is set to don the CSK colors in the next season of the lucrative league.
In a recent video released by CSK on their YouTube channel, he expressed his eagerness to play under Dhoni, describing him as a calm and composed leader. Samson emphasized his desire to support Dhoni in any capacity needed.
“I want to play with him as a captain. I want to be with him as a leader. I want to support him in whatever way he wants me to. So, very much looking forward to playing with him. I kind of connect with him a bit more. Because I feel he is a bit calm, composed and easy-going guy,” said Samson.
Samson also mentioned that he has received positive feedback from both domestic and international players regarding the CSK dressing room, which is often regarded as one of the best in the IPL.
“One thing which I have heard from each and every Indian cricketer, each and every domestic cricketer, and also the international players, is that CSK dressing room is one of the finest in the IPL. So I’ve heard lots and lots of great things,” he added.
Expressing his admiration for CSK, Samson highlighted the franchise's impressive legacy and success in the IPL. He has been looking forward to joining the team for the past five months and feels privileged to wear the iconic yellow jersey.
“So CSK, right from the first day of me playing in IPL, I think CSK has been one of the biggest franchises my team has played against. So whenever we played against CSK, we could see how big the franchise is, how big the team is, how champion team they are, how many championships they have won, they have a winning legacy. So, these are the things which come very naturally to my mind when I think about CSK,” he elaborated.
“For me, the last five months have been really exciting. So, I have been waiting for this day, and I’m very fortunate that I am going to wear the yellow jersey,” concluded Samson.
