Salman Ali Agha Faces Reprimand for Code of Conduct Violation in ODI
Salman Ali Agha Reprimanded for Equipment Abuse
Dhaka [Bangladesh], March 14: Pakistani cricketer Salman Ali Agha has received an official reprimand for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Friday, as reported by the ICC.
Agha was found in breach of Article 2.2 of the ICC Code, which addresses the misuse of cricket gear, clothing, and ground equipment during international matches.
As a result of this incident, Agha has been assigned one demerit point to his disciplinary record, marking his first offence in the past two years.
The incident took place in the 39th over of Pakistan's innings when Agha, after being run out, threw his batting gloves and helmet to the ground in a manner deemed inappropriate.
He acknowledged the offence and accepted the penalty suggested by Neeyamur Rashid Rahul from the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.
The charge was brought forth by on-field umpires Adrian Holdstock and Tanvir Ahmed, along with third umpire Kumar Dharmasena and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman Mukul.
Level 1 violations can result in a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum fine of 50% of a player's match fee, and one or two demerit points.
In the match, Pakistan secured a 128-run victory over Bangladesh using the DLS method, leveling the three-match series. The final match will take place on Sunday.
