Sajan Prakash Advances in 200m Butterfly

In Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, swimmer Sajan Prakash secured his place in the finals of the men's 200m butterfly event during the Asian Games on Friday. He achieved a time of 2:00.94, finishing third in his heat.

The final is set to occur at 2:51 PM IST, according to information from Olympics.com.

Rishabh Das and Utkarsh Patil Join Finals

Rishabh Das also qualified for the finals in the men's 200m backstroke, finishing fourth in the heats with a time of 2:00.53. Utkarsh Patil followed closely, securing a ninth-place finish with a time of 2:02.13.

The backstroke final is scheduled for 1:55 PM IST.

Men's 400m Freestyle Results

In the men's 400m freestyle, Aneesh Sunil and Dhakshan Shashikumar were unable to qualify for the finals, finishing 17th and 18th in their heats. Aneesh recorded a time of 3:58.08, while Dhakshan clocked in at 3:58.73. Only the top ten swimmers advanced.

Shooting Success for Kamaljeet and Suruchi

In shooting, the duo of Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh progressed to the finals of the 10m air pistol mixed team event. They topped the leaderboard with a score of 587-29x, just four points shy of the world record held by China since July 2026.

Their impressive series scores of 196, 195, and 196 secured them a spot in the finals, where they will compete against teams from Iran, South Korea, and Indonesia.

Mixed Results for Indian Pistol Shooters

This achievement follows a less-than-stellar performance in the men's 10m air pistol team event, where Kamaljeet, Kedarling Balakrishna, and Aakash Bhardwaj finished fourth with a total score of 1727-53x. They were outperformed by China, Indonesia, and Japan.

Kamaljeet scored 580-16x, placing ninth, while Aakash finished eleventh with 579-20x. Only the top eight shooters qualify for the individual finals, and Kedarling Uchaganve ended in 35th place with a score of 568.
