London [UK], July 11: Renowned Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar expressed his admiration for the high-caliber tennis showcased at Wimbledon after witnessing the men's singles semifinals from the prestigious Centre Court. He described Jannik Sinner's performance as a "masterclass" and commended Alexander Zverev along with Britain's Arthur Fery for their remarkable displays.

Tendulkar was among a host of sports legends in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, where he observed Zverev triumph over Fery to secure his first Wimbledon final spot, followed by Sinner's impressive victory against Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic.

Former West Indies captain Brian Lara joined Tendulkar, as the two cricketing legends shared the limelight after years of being fierce competitors and later collaborating in various charity matches.

Current Indian Test captain Shubman Gill also graced the semifinals, adding to the cricketing prestige at Centre Court.

The Royal Box was not just limited to cricket; it also included football stars like Liverpool and Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk, alongside Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe among the distinguished guests.

He further praised world No. 1 Jannik Sinner for his straight-sets win over the seven-time Wimbledon champion, Djokovic.

"Then came Jannik Sinner's masterclass. His ability to blend power with precision in every shot was extraordinary. Novak fought until the end, but Jannik was simply at his best today," he remarked.

Tendulkar wrapped up his reflections by celebrating the essence of sports and expressing his anticipation for the Wimbledon final.
