S Sreesanth Suspended by Kerala Cricket Association for Controversial Remarks

Sreesanth Faces Suspension from KCA
The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has imposed a three-year suspension on former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth due to his allegedly false and derogatory comments regarding the association. This decision is linked to the ongoing controversy over Sanju Samson's exclusion from the Indian squad for the Champions Trophy.
The KCA announced this resolution following a special General Body meeting convened in Kochi on April 30.
Currently, Sreesanth is a co-owner of the Kollam Aeries, a team in the Kerala Cricket League.
Previously, Sreesanth and the franchise teams Kollam Aeries, Alappuzha Team Lead, and Alappuzha Ripples received show-cause notices concerning his contentious statements.
The KCA noted that the franchise teams provided satisfactory explanations, thus no further actions will be taken against them. However, the association advised more caution in selecting team management members.
Additionally, the General Body has decided to pursue a compensation claim against Sanju Samson's father, Samson Vishwanath, and two others for making unfounded allegations involving Samson's name.
Sreesanth, who was part of the Indian team that clinched two World Cup titles, received a show-cause notice for his comments that linked the KCA and Samson during a discussion on a Malayalam television channel.
The KCA clarified that the notice was issued not for supporting Samson but for making misleading and defamatory statements against the association.
During the televised panel discussion, Sreesanth reportedly expressed his support for Samson and pledged to defend him and other players from Kerala while accusing the KCA.
These comments emerged amid backlash against the KCA for excluding Samson from the Kerala squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which many believe impacted his chances of being selected for the Champions Trophy.
