Roundglass Hockey Academy Celebrated for Its Contributions

New Delhi [India] - On March 27, Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) was awarded the esteemed Hockey India President Award for Outstanding Achievement 2025 during the 8th Hockey India Annual Awards. This recognition highlights the academy's significant role in promoting grassroots hockey and revitalizing the sport in Punjab.


In addition to this honor, RGHA's promising goalkeeper, Princedeep Singh, received the Hockey India Jugraj Singh Award for Upcoming Player of the Year 2025 (Men – U21), affirming his position as one of India's most talented young players.


The award was presented by Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as the Minister of Labour and Employment.


A distinguished group of hockey legends and Roundglass leadership, including Sarpal Singh, the Founding Director of Roundglass Sports; Rajinder Singh, Technical Lead of RGHA (an Olympian and Dronacharya Awardee); Ashfaque Ullah Khan, Senior Lead of Hockey Operations; and Harbinder Singh, a three-time Olympic Medallist, accepted the award on behalf of the academy.


Sarpal Singh expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “This award reflects our steadfast commitment to restoring the glory of Punjab hockey. We have dedicated ourselves to developing world-class facilities and fostering grassroots talent throughout Punjab. Witnessing our young athletes thrive and our academy being acknowledged by Hockey India reinforces our mission and inspires us to continue enhancing the sports landscape and nurturing talent that will represent India on the global stage.”


Princedeep Singh, who became part of the academy in 2022, has shown remarkable skill as a goalkeeper. His recent selection for the Indian Men’s Hockey Team for the FIH Men’s Junior World Cup and the senior team underscores the effective high-performance pathway established by RGHA.
