Rohit Sharma's Last ODI Rumors Addressed

As the third and final ODI approaches at Lord's Cricket Ground on Sunday (July 19), Rohit Sharma and Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir were seen sharing a light moment on the iconic balcony. Speculation has arisen suggesting that this match could mark Rohit's final appearance, as management and selectors reportedly do not foresee him participating in the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, Rohit has yet to address these rumors, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refuted claims that the Lord's match will be his last.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia emphasized, "There are numerous speculations circulating in the media regarding Rohit Sharma's future. I want to clearly state that there has been no discussion indicating that Rohit will play his last match at Lord's on Sunday. He remains a key member of the Indian ODI squad and will continue to represent the nation as long as he is considered for selection. In essence, the ODI at Lord's will not be his final game." This statement was made prior to the crucial match in the series.
