Rivaan Dev Preetham's Impressive Performance in Spain

Valencia, Spain - April 16: Rivaan Dev Preetham, the sole Indian victor in the history of the FIA Motorsport Games, once again demonstrated his remarkable talent during the second round of the esteemed Champions of the Future Academy Programme, as reported by FIA.

The current Micro Max National champion faced challenges in qualifying, resulting in a less-than-ideal starting position. Despite this, he managed to secure an impressive 11th place in the first final after struggling with a P21 and P27 in the heats. The 11-year-old racer rebounded by qualifying fifth out of 37 global competitors and finished a commendable fifth in the second heat.

He continued to impress by achieving another top-15 finish, placing 11th in the second final, which earned him a total of 22 points for Round 2.

Supported by Redbrick Constructions, Sankar Group of Companies, and Chaicup, Rivaan clocked his best lap at 1 minute and 02.442 seconds.

The F1 Academy is dedicated to nurturing young professional racing drivers through its global karting initiative. Rivaan will return from Spain on Wednesday but will quickly resume training, as he has little time to celebrate his upcoming birthday on April 18 while preparing for the Meco Meritus Cup.

A Grade 6 student at Lady Andal House of Children in Chennai, Rivaan has already claimed two National titles in 2023 and 2024, and he aims for a hat-trick this year. In 2024, he showcased his skills at the World Motorsports Games, winning a race and a heat before finishing 8th overall in the Karting Mini class, competing against participants from over 40 countries.

"I’m thrilled to be competitive with the top drivers. This experience is invaluable, and I am eager for improved results in the upcoming rounds," Rivaan Dev stated, as quoted in the FIA release.

The next round is scheduled to take place in Italy from July 2 to 6, followed by three additional rounds in Hungary, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.
