Rishabh Pant Looks Back at Historic Lord's Victory

London [UK], July 10: As the Indian cricket team prepares for the third Test against England, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant reminisced about the unforgettable win at the legendary Lord's during their last tour in 2021. He expressed his gratitude for the chance to play again and emphasized the team's increasing confidence with each match.

During their previous visit to England, India concluded the series with a 2-2 draw, highlighted by their remarkable victory at Lord's.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Pant remarked, "It's well-known as an iconic venue. Witnessing everyone unite to secure that Test match was truly inspiring. I feel fortunate to have another opportunity with a different team and in a new role."

The upcoming clash between India and England marks the third Test of the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series, taking place at the Home of Cricket, Lord's, starting today.

Pant also discussed the team's morale following a commanding 336-run victory at Edgbaston, which leveled the series at 1-1. He stated, "The way the team is performing, confidence is building with each game. We aim to carry this momentum from the last match and hopefully secure a 2-1 lead in the series."

Indian batter KL Rahul shared his pride in playing at Lord's, recalling his name on the honors board and expressing his desire for a standout performance to help India clinch a win. "It’s a source of pride and joy to play here. Seeing my name on the honors board brings happiness. I hope to deliver a great performance again and contribute significantly to the team's success," Rahul said.

Rahul has participated in two Test matches at Lord's, accumulating 152 runs, including one century.

Despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Team India showcased exceptional batting and bowling skills, with captain Shubman Gill scoring 269 and 161 runs, Mohammed Siraj claiming six wickets, and Akash Deep achieving a ten-wicket haul in Birmingham.

Historically, India and England have faced each other 19 times at Lord's, with England winning 12 matches and India securing three victories.
