Rishabh Pant's Injury Update

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been officially ruled out of the current Test series against England following a toe fracture sustained on the first day of the fourth Test.

Pant had to retire hurt after scoring 37 runs when he was struck on his right foot while attempting a reverse sweep against England's Chris Woakes on Wednesday.

According to a source from the BCCI, "He will be sidelined for approximately six weeks. A replacement will be brought in, likely Ishan Kishan."

There was visible blood from Pant's right foot, and the area showed significant swelling.

Ishan Kishan, who recently participated in two County matches for Nottinghamshire, was also part of the India A team that faced the England Lions prior to this Test series, although the 26-year-old did not play in either match.

Additionally, the team management may consider KL Rahul for wicketkeeping duties, although he hasn't performed that role since the South Africa tour during the 2023-24 season.
