Lucknow Super Giants Celebrate First Win

On April 6, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made headlines for all the right reasons as Rishabh Pant guided the team to their inaugural victory of the season, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by four wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The emotional reaction of team owner Goenka was captured on camera during the nail-biting final over, as Pant secured the win.

Pant, who was acquired for a staggering ₹27 crore during the 2025 IPL Mega Auction, holds the record for being the most expensive player in IPL history. Despite a challenging first season where he managed only 269 runs across 14 matches, including two half-centuries and a century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), he faced criticism for his performance.

In the match against SRH, Pant was awarded the Player of the Match (POTM) title after scoring 68 runs off 50 balls, demonstrating resilience on a difficult pitch. His innings included the winning runs, marking his first half-century for LSG in a victorious match. Goenka's emotional display resonated with fans, especially following his recent controversial conversation with Pant after a loss to Delhi Capitals (DC).
