RCB's victory marked their fifth win of IPL 2026, propelling them to the second position on the points table. The GT openers, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, initially struggled but soon found their rhythm, putting together a solid partnership of 128 runs for the first wicket. Sudharsan eventually scored a century, finishing with 100 runs, while Gill contributed 32 runs. Despite a late surge from debutant Jason Holder, who scored 23 runs off 10 balls, GT could only manage 205 runs.
RCB's chase began on a shaky note with Jacob Bethell's early dismissal for 24 runs.
