All-Time ODI XI Selection

Following the exciting three-match series between India and England, Ravi Shastri and Eoin Morgan have curated a combined all-time ODI XI featuring players from both nations. The lineup is heavily skewed towards Indian talent, with only three English players making the cut. In a video shared by SKY Sports, Morgan, who captained England to their sole World Cup victory, chose not to include himself, while both Indian captains who led their team to World Cup glory—Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni—were included. Notably, Dhoni, who led India to the 2011 title, was appointed as the captain of this combined team. Shastri, a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning squad, also saw Kapil earn a spot. Jos Buttler was the sole English player in the top six, as Shastri and Morgan selected Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma as their opening duo, with Virat Kohli also making the lineup. Yuvraj Singh, the Player of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, was also featured. The duo included two pace-bowling all-rounders: alongside Kapil, they chose the recently retired Ben Stokes, who was pivotal in England's 2019 World Cup triumph, earning the Player of the Match award in the final.

Bowling Lineup

Shastri and Morgan selected a total of 12 players (including the playing XI and a 12th man), leaving room for four bowlers. Adil Rashid was the only specialist bowler from England to be included, edging out Anil Kumble. The legendary Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah, along with World Cup heroes Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, rounded out the bowling attack.
