Ravi Dixit Applauds Anahat Singh's Achievement

New Delhi, July 27: Indian squash athlete Ravi Dixit has expressed admiration for the young talent Anahat Singh, who recently made history by winning the World Junior Squash Championships. At just 18 years old, Anahat has become the first Indian to secure this prestigious title, showcasing her exceptional skills and determination.

During the launch of his debut song 'Ehsaas' in Delhi, Dixit reflected on Anahat's impressive journey, attributing her success to her hard work and the support she has received. He noted, “Anahat Singh is undoubtedly very gifted. I witnessed her development firsthand during our trip to Malaysia for the Asian Doubles Tournament last year.”

In a remarkable final, Anahat triumphed over Egypt's Ruqayya Salem with scores of 11-3, 11-7, and 11-9, ending Egypt's 15-year reign in the championship. Throughout the tournament, she displayed dominance, losing only two games in six matches.

Dixit emphasized the significance of Anahat's victory for Indian squash, stating, “Her accomplishment at the World Junior Championship is incredible. This is fantastic news for India, especially in the realm of squash. I wish her all the best for the Olympics and future competitions.”

He praised Anahat's consistent growth, which he believes stems from her determination and the mentorship of her coaches. “When she began her journey, she was not at this level, but as she participated in more tournaments, she realized her potential,” Dixit explained.

He further added, “Her coaches have played a crucial role in her development. When we practice with her and offer advice, she understands that she can achieve anything. She is making us proud with her accomplishments.”

Having started playing squash at the under-11 level, Anahat's journey has culminated in her becoming a World Junior Champion at the under-19 level, which Dixit believes is a positive development for the sport.

At the launch of 'Ehsaas', which narrates the life of a squash player, Dixit expressed his desire to raise awareness about squash. “This song reflects my story as a squash player, and it’s vital for me to showcase the sport,” he remarked.

He shared that the concept of 'Ehsaas' (feeling) emerged from the realization that squash is not widely recognized in India. Discussions with friends led to the idea of using music and cinema to make the sport more relatable.

“My friends suggested that we could create something impactful, as Bollywood has a unique way of reaching audiences quickly,” he noted. Dixit has signed three songs with Red Ribbon, with 'Ehsaas' being the first. He is eager to see how it resonates with listeners.

According to Dixit, 'Ehsaas' captures the challenges, sacrifices, and emotions of a squash player, aiming to introduce the sport to a broader audience while celebrating the dedication required to excel at the highest levels.
