Ravi Dahiya's Praise for Deaf Cricketers

New Delhi [India] - Olympic silver medalist Ravi Dahiya has expressed admiration for deaf cricketers, highlighting their unwavering dedication and hard work. He shared that their passion and commitment, despite facing numerous challenges, serve as a source of inspiration for him.


Dahiya remarked on their commendable determination, stating, “I feel very good here, and the passion they show is really commendable. We see their hard work, and despite all the difficulties, they still work hard. So I feel very good.”


Earlier this month, the Indian Deaf Cricket Team showcased an exceptional performance, achieving a clean sweep in both formats by winning all three T20I matches and both ODIs.


Bright Future for Indian Wrestling

In addition to his support for deaf cricketers, Dahiya expressed optimism about the future of Indian wrestling, predicting that the nation could secure 5-6 medals at the 2028 Olympics. He praised the young wrestlers' performances, particularly at the U-23 Asian Championships, where both boys and girls excelled.


He stated, “The future is very bright, and you will not believe that I feel in the 2028 Olympics we will take at least 5-6 medals from wrestling. The way our young players are performing. In the U-23 Asian Championships, the girls did so well and won medals. The boys also won medals. So our future is very bright.”


Indian freestyle wrestlers continued to impress at the U23 Asian Championships in Da Nang, Vietnam, adding four more medals to the country's tally on the fourth day of competition. Kumar Mohit and Chandermohan each secured gold medals in their weight classes, while Deepak earned a silver in the 61kg division, and another grappler named Deepak took home a bronze in the 74kg category.


These achievements brought India's freestyle medal count to six, following the previous day's successes where Akshay T Dhere (57kg) and Vicky (97kg) both clinched gold medals.
