Rashid Khan Sets New IPL Record with Gujarat Titans
Rashid Khan Achieves Milestone in IPL
On April 26, during a match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Rashid Khan made history by being included in the Gujarat Titans' (GT) playing XI. This match marked a significant moment as the Titans triumphed over the five-time champions by eight wickets, breaking a two-match losing streak. Despite the victory, Rashid had a subdued performance, bowling only one over in which he conceded 21 runs.
Historic Streak for Rashid Khan
This match was Rashid's 144th appearance in the IPL, making him the player with the longest consecutive match streak since his debut in 2017 with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has never missed a game for either of the franchises he has played for. Previously, this record was held by Suresh Raina, who debuted in 2008 and missed his first match in 2016 due to personal reasons. Both Rashid and Raina are the only players to have played over 100 consecutive matches from the start of their IPL careers.
