Punjab Kings' Current Standing

Punjab Kings (PBKS) have managed to hold onto the fourth position in the IPL 2026 standings, but their path to the playoffs remains uncertain, even if they secure victories in their next two matches. Once comfortably leading the table, PBKS now finds itself in fourth place with just 13 points. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, the team started the season strong, achieving six wins in the initial phase. However, their third match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was abandoned due to rain, which hindered their momentum. Although they were expected to finish among the top two, the situation has changed, and even consecutive wins may not ensure a playoff berth for PBKS. They will also require assistance from other teams to advance.

Meanwhile, despite their recent victory, Mumbai Indians (MI) remain in ninth place on the table, having secured only 4 wins and accumulating 8 points. Jasprit Bumrah stepped in as captain for MI, leading the team to their fourth win of the season in the absence of key players Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.
