This marks the first time Punjab is hosting the Asian Champions Trophy, welcoming six national teams for its ninth edition.

The competing nations include India, Bangladesh, China, Japan, Malaysia, and South Korea, with the league matches running from October 27 to November 2 in Jalandhar. Following this stage, the tournament will shift to Mohali for the semi-finals and finals scheduled for November 4 and 5. Notably, all matches are free for spectators.

In a statement to the press, Mann noted that the teams have expressed satisfaction with the hospitality, playing fields, and facilities provided by the Punjab government.

"The Asian Champions Trophy is currently taking place in Jalandhar, and it brings us immense joy. This time, we are determined for our nation to claim victory. The teams are very happy with the hospitality, the venues, and the overall infrastructure provided by our government. I have spoken with the teams and officials from Hockey India, and they are thrilled, mentioning that they have never experienced a venue like this before," he stated.

India has a strong history in the Asian Champions Trophy, having won the title five times in 2011, 2016, 2018 (joint winners with Pakistan), 2023, and 2024. Their latest victory occurred in Hulunbuir, China, where Jugraj Singh scored the winning goal in a 1-0 final against the host nation.
