PSG Claims Victory Against Aston Villa
Vienna [Austria], August 13 (Media House): Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the reigning UEFA Champions League champions, secured a 2-1 victory against Aston Villa, the Europa League champions, at the Red Bull Arena Salzburg on Wednesday. Desire Doue netted the decisive goal for PSG.
The 21-year-old forward restored PSG's lead in the 61st minute, showcasing the team's resilience against a determined Premier League side in their season opener.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG in the 20th minute with a brilliant strike that left goalkeeper Marco Bizot helpless.
Aston Villa responded just before halftime when 17-year-old Brian Madjo scored, making history as the youngest goal-scorer in the competition's history after evading a challenge from William Pacho. Madjo had previously missed three opportunities but made his mark with this crucial goal.
