Pakistan Withdraws from World Championship of Legends Season 3 Amid Tensions
Pakistan's Withdrawal from WCL Season 3
On October 5, Pakistan announced its official withdrawal from the World Championship of Legends (WCL) Season 3 due to unexpected circumstances, effectively ending their participation in the tournament.
The decision came after their first match was postponed for technical reasons, leading the Pakistan Champions to confirm their exit from the ongoing 2026 season.
A statement from WCL noted, "Pakistan Champions will not be participating in WCL Season 3 due to unforeseen circumstances. The tournament continues with six teams, and the legends are still in action."

Historically, the Pakistan Champions have been strong contenders, finishing as runners-up in the first two seasons of the tournament, losing to India in the 2024 final and to South Africa in the 2025 final.
In the last season, the India Champions opted not to compete against the Pakistan Champions due to geopolitical issues and public sentiment following the Pahalgam terror attack.
During the 2025 WCL, the Indian team, which included notable players like Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, chose to forfeit their semi-final match against Pakistan, allowing them to advance directly to the final.
This marks the second instance where the India Champions withdrew from a match against the Pakistan Champions, as their earlier group stage encounter was also canceled for similar reasons.
