PCB Confirms Travel Plans for Overseas Players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has addressed worries about the travel arrangements for international players participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), despite the ongoing unrest in the Gulf region. The upcoming tournament is expected to see a higher number of foreign participants, especially from Australia.

Kicking off on March 26, the 11th season of the PSL will showcase a blend of top local talent alongside numerous international stars, promising an exhilarating franchise cricket experience.

A PCB insider dismissed claims that Australian players were hesitant to travel to Pakistan due to rising tensions in the Middle East and the country's border issues with Afghanistan.

The source stated, "All travel logistics are finalized, and we anticipate the arrival of all Australian players signed for PSL 11 starting next week."

Recent reports indicated that the Australian government had cautioned its players against traveling to Peshawar, where only one PSL match is scheduled, due to its closeness to the Afghanistan border.

The PCB source emphasized that the PSL has encountered more significant challenges in the past, and the board is fully aware of the current situation, taking appropriate measures.

A number of Australian cricketers, including Steve Smith, David Warner, Adam Zampa, and others, have committed to participating in the PSL.

This season marks a milestone as the PSL expands to eight teams from the previous six, and it will once again coincide with the Indian Premier League, which begins just three days later.
