Pakistan Super League Matches Relocated to UAE Amid Security Concerns

PSL Fixtures Shifted to UAE
New Delhi [India] May 9: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday that the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will now take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a statement from the PCB.
The final eight matches, which were originally set to occur in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore, will be hosted in the UAE instead.
PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi expressed disappointment that local fans will miss the opportunity to watch the games in their home stadiums.
“I regret that our domestic audience and cricket enthusiasts will not be able to witness these matches in Pakistan's stadiums,” stated Mohsin Naqvi.
“The PCB has consistently maintained that sports and politics should remain separate. However, due to the reckless and dangerous actions targeting the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which were clearly intended to disrupt the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League X, we have opted to move the remaining matches to the UAE. This decision aims to protect both our local and international players from potential threats,” he added.
“As a responsible organization that has faced challenges and ensured the growth of cricket, it was crucial for us to prioritize the mental well-being of all participants in the HBL PSL,” Naqvi continued.
“We hope our stakeholders will support us in promoting the best interests of the tournament, our players, and the fans. We are dedicated to ensuring the league continues to prosper,” he concluded.
The matches that will be rescheduled include:
* Karachi Kings vs. Peshawar Zalmi
