Pakistan Reveals ODI Squad for Upcoming Series Against Australia
Pakistan's ODI Squad Announcement
The Pakistan cricket team has unveiled its 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. After experimenting with a fresh lineup in the recent ODI series against Bangladesh, the team has opted for a more experienced group this time. Key players such as Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Sufyan Moqim are making their return. Shaheen Afridi will continue to lead the team, with Salman Ali Agha serving as vice-captain. The squad also includes three uncapped players: Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir, who may have the opportunity to debut in ODIs during this series. Notably, Mohammad Rizwan has once again been left out, while Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub are sidelined due to injuries. Salman Ali Agha, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Sahibzada Farhan, and Shamyl Hussain have retained their spots in the squad. Usman Khan was not selected due to health issues. This series marks Australia's first ODI tour to Pakistan since 2022, when Pakistan emerged victorious with a 2-1 series win. With the ODI World Cup approaching next year, both teams are keen to refine their strategies in the 50-over format.
