Pakistan's 15-Member ODI Squad Unveiled

Islamabad [Pakistan], March 4: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed a 15-member team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has scheduled the series to take place in Dhaka from March 11 to March 15.

Notably, veteran batsman Babar Azam has been excluded from the lineup. The 31-year-old struggled during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, scoring only 91 runs in four matches.

In addition to his T20 challenges, the former captain's ODI performance also declined in 2025, where he accumulated 544 runs over 17 innings, averaging 34.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, the left-arm seamer, will continue to lead the team, which includes six players who are yet to make their ODI debuts.

Newcomers Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, and Shamyl Hussain have all received their first call-ups to the ODI squad.

Farhan's selection follows an impressive T20 World Cup, where he scored 383 runs, setting a record for the most runs in a single men's tournament.

Four of the uncapped players—Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Saad Masood, and Shamyl Hussain—recently showcased their skills with the Pakistan Shaheens against the England Lions in Abu Dhabi, which contributed to their selection.

The squad also features seasoned players like wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, pacers Haris Rauf and Mohammad Wasim Jnr, all-rounders Faheem Ashraf and Salman Ali Agha, along with wrist-spinner Abrar Ahmed.
